The Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum will hold a four-day ministerial conference in Kyushu Prefecture beginning Sept. 27 to discuss how to improve workers' abilities amid rapid advances in information technology, the labor ministry said Friday.
Some 200 ministers and officials in charge of human resources development from 21 APEC members will attend the meeting in Kumamoto.
The conference will focus on training programs to foster manpower capable of contributing to social and economic growth and the sharing of wealth under increasing globalization, the Health, Labor and Welfare Ministry said. It is the fourth meeting of its kind after others held in Manila, Seoul and Washington.
