Tokyo police said Monday they sent to prosecutors a 22-year-old man and his 52-year-old mother on suspicion of selling fake Louis Vuitton products in violation of the Trade Mark Law.
Li Ryok Kong, a South Korean national and owner of an import shop in Shimodate, Ibaraki Prefecture, and his mother, Chong Chong Sin, an employee of the shop, were arrested earlier this month for allegedly being in possession of 385 counterfeit Louis Vuitton products they intended to sell.
The two were taken into custody in connection with an investigation into members of a South Korean group in Tokyo who were arrested this month on suspicion of attempting to mail fake Louis Vuitton products from Seoul to Japan, police said.
Police suspect that an organization in South Korea is producing fake Louis Vuitton products.
