OSAKA -- Sanyo Electric Co. will sell home electrical goods made by General Electric Co. of the United States at its affiliated shops to invigorate their sales against rival mass retailers, Sanyo officials said Thursday.
Sanyo Life Electronics Co., a sales subsidiary of Sanyo Electric, is planning this month to purchase 300-liter refrigerators from GE and ship them to those of its 4,500 affiliated shops nationwide that request them.
Sanyo Life Electronics, already purchasing steam cleaners from a German home appliance maker, plans to increase products from other companies besides Sanyo Electric to 25 percent from the current 7 percent by 2003.
