OSAKA — Police on Saturday again searched the home of Mamoru Takuma, the suspect in the June 8 murders of eight schoolchildren at a state-run elementary school in Osaka, for evidence concerning growing suspicion that he feigned a mental disorder to evade criminal responsibility.
Osaka Prefectural Police searched his apartment in Ikeda and seized legal books they had not taken during a search June 9. Investigators will try to determine from his belongings how much he knows about the law.
In the previous search, police seized around 200 medicine tablets, including tranquilizers, as well as a personal computer and a fax machine, but left the books since it was unclear whether they had any bearing on the case.
