A Yokohama man has been arrested on suspicion of putting pornographic images of young girls on a Web site in violation of the national law banning child prostitution, which covers child pornography, police said Monday.
The pornography on the Web site run by Naotaka Sekino, a 24-year-old company employee, was discovered by investigative authorities in Denmark, who notified their Japanese counterparts, they said.
The Danish authorities sent a request for an investigation to Japan in February through the International Criminal Police Organization.
Investigations showed that Sekino, from December to February, posted 10 pornographic images, which he had collected via the Internet, showing girls between 10 and 15 years old. Sekino said he opened the Web site to collect advertising revenues in an effort to pay his debts of about 2 million yen, according to police.
