Lithuanian President Valdas Adamkus will make a five-day official working visit to Japan starting April 9 to further bilateral relations, Foreign Ministry spokesman Norio Hattori said Friday.
Adamkus and his wife, Alma Adamkiene, will meet the Emperor and the Empress, while the 74-year-old president will hold talks with Prime Minister Yoshiro Mori, Hattori said in a statement.
Adamkus, who is expected to be accompanied by Foreign Minister Antanas Valionis, Economy Minister Eugenijus Gentvilas and Culture Minister Gintautas Kevisas, will travel to Osaka on April 12 before leaving Japan the following day, the ministry said.
