King Harald V and Queen Sonja of Norway will visit Japan on Saturday, according to the Foreign Ministry.
The king will be accompanied by Foreign Minister Thorbjorn Jagland, Trade and Industry Minister Grete Knudsen and Fisheries Minister Otto Gregussen, who will meet with their Japanese counterparts, officials said Wednesday.
King Harald's visit is aimed at deepening friendly relations between the two countries in various areas, including ties between the Norwegian royalty and the Imperial family as well as between government, business and cultural circles.
