Which home appliances are targeted by the law?
The four subject to the law are air conditioners, televisions, electric refrigerators and electric washing machines. Industrial-size models that are not used in people's homes will not be subject to the law.
What about models manufactured abroad?
If it is one purchased at a store in Japan, it can be returned to the store at which it was purchased. If it was purchased abroad, it can be handed over to a store at which a customer wishes to buy a new model.
