Leading electronics maker NEC Corp. and Thomson Multimedia SA of France said Wednesday they have agreed to a joint venture to produce plasma display panels.
The fifty-fifty joint venture will also conduct global research and development on plasma panels, modules and monitors.
NEC and Thomson signed a memorandum of understanding Wednesday that commits them to concluding an agreement in June to establish the joint venture by the end of the year, they said.
