The Emperor and the Empress held an audience with visiting Micronesian President Leo Falcam and his wife at the Imperial Palace on Friday morning.
The president and the first lady were last at the Imperial Palace to attend a tea party hosted by the Emperor and the Empress in April, when Falcam was visiting Japan for a one-day summit of the leaders of Pacific island nations held in Miyazaki.
On Thursday, Prime Minister Yoshiro Mori promised Falcam during a meeting that Japan will continue to provide economic and technical support to the Pacific nation.
