AB Volvo is in talks with major truck maker Nissan Diesel Motor Co. to acquire an equity stake while negotiating to end its capital alliance with Mitsubishi Motors Corp., sources close to the talks said Friday.
Volvo executives have flown to Japan a number of times in recent months to push alliance talks with Nissan Diesel, the sources said.
Nissan Motor Co. and Renault SA each have 22.5 percent stakes in Nissan Diesel.
