Victor Co. of Japan said Wednesday that it will launch the lightest and smallest digital video camera in the world in the next couple of weeks.

The 340-gram GR-DVP3 digital video camera is designed for both right- and left-hand users, and incorporates a flatter, full-metal body, JVC said.

The GR-DVP3 will be priced at 235,000 yen, it said.

"Unlike video cameras, which tend to be used for important events only, the GR-DVP3 can be used to film daily life and business, much the same as a snapshot still camera," the manufacturer of audiovisual appliances said.

The product also enables the user to shoot bright and colorful pictures even in a dark environment, JVC said.
