Toshiba Corp. said Monday it will set up in April a subsidiary in charge of personnel affairs that will handle wages and benefits for employees in its group firms.
Toshiba Human Asset Service Corp., to be based in Tokyo, will be wholly owned by Toshiba, the company said. The consignment of personnel work to the unit will help reduce group costs by 1.3 billion yen annually, the company said.
In the future, the unit will seek personnel work contracts from companies outside the group, it added.
