Matsushita Electric Industrial Co. officially revised its fiscal 2000 earnings projections Tuesday due to declining prices of personal computers and decreased demand for cellphones, company officials said Tuesday.
In fiscal 2000, which ends March 31, Matsushita expects to post consolidated pretax profits of 126 billion yen, down 39.1 percent from its earlier forecast, and consolidated net profits of 52 billion yen, down 49 percent.
The electronics giant will also post consolidated operating profits of 220 billion yen, down 15 percent, and group sales of 7.56 trillion yen, off 0.9 percent from a previous projection.
