Japan and Djibouti agreed Monday to continue their friendly and cooperative relations, Foreign Ministry officials said.

Foreign Minister Yohei Kono and Ali Abdi Farah, foreign affairs and cooperation minister of Djibouti, reached the accord in a meeting Monday, the officials said.

Kono told Farah that Japan will do what it can to keep supporting Djibouti, which is trying to help achieve peace in strife-torn neighbor Somalia.
