The ruling Liberal Democratic Party's policy affairs chief asked business leaders Thursday for suggestions in response to its plan to lift restrictions on treasury stock.
Shizuka Kamei, chairman of the LDP's Policy Research Council, made the comment during a meeting with Takashi Imai, chairman of the Federation of Economic Organizations (Keidanren).
During the meeting, Kamei said the LDP will push the plan as a measure to bolster the sagging stock market, according to Keidanren officials.
