Police will soon send papers to prosecutors on the owner and an employee of a convenience store in Sagamihara, Kanagawa Prefecture, for selling alcoholic drinks last week to a minor who died in a scooter accident soon afterward, police sources said Thursday.
The minor, a 16-year-old female high school student from Machida in Tokyo, died early Sunday after she fell from a scooter she was riding under the influence of alcohol, the sources said.
She had consumed the drinks she purchased at the store, the Hosoya-kobuchi branch of Family Mart, prior to the ride, the sources said.
