Public support for the Cabinet of Prime Minister Yoshiro Mori remains low at 23 percent while the disapproval rate remains above 70 percent despite a slight improvement in both figures from the previous survey, the latest Kyodo News poll showed Wednesday.
The Cabinet's support rate climbed 4.2 percentage points to 23 percent from December, but it remains well below the 30 percent rate scored in the first seven months of Mori's administration from April to October last year.
The disapproval rate dropped 4.5 points to 70.5 percent, but is still the fifth highest on record in Japan.
