Toshiba Corp. on Tuesday revised its overall earnings projections for fiscal 2000 downward, mainly due to declining prices of personal computers in the United States, company officials said Tuesday.
Toshiba's consolidated pretax profits in fiscal 2000, which ends March 31, will decline to 185 billion yen compared with a previous projection of 250 billion yen, while consolidated operating profits are forecast to fall to 230 billion yen, compared with a previous projection of 286 billion yen.
The electronics giant will post consolidated net profits of 96 billion yen, down from its previous forecast of 137 billion yen. Group sales are forecast to drop to 5.98 trillion yen, from a projection of 6.22 trillion yen.
