The Tokyo Stock Exchange said Monday it started afternoon trading in Japanese government bond futures and options as well as stock index futures on time at 12:30 p.m. after computer trouble prevented a morning session.
Earlier in the day, problems with the computer trading system forced the bourse, which normally begins accepting such orders at 8:20 a.m., to delay the start of order-taking for 10 minutes.
It said it would start trading at 9 a.m. as scheduled, but later announced trading could not begin on time as it was unable to resolve the problems. As a result, there was no trading in the morning.
