Air traffic control systems will be upgraded after investigators determined incorrect instructions from controllers caused Wednesday's near collision between two Japan Airlines jetliners, the Transport Ministry announced Saturday.
Following an urgent meeting Friday of the ministry's air traffic control review panel, six recommendations were made for changes in the air traffic control system. The changes will be implemented in June, officials from the Land, Infrastructure and Transport Ministry said.
