At least 42 passengers and crew members were injured Wednesday when the pilot of the JAL jumbo jet they were aboard took the plane into a sudden dive to avoid colliding with another JAL airliner over Yaizu, Shizuoka Prefecture.

According to police, at least four people were seriously injured and rushed to hospitals after Japan Airlines Flight 907, with 426 passengers and crew, turned back and landed at Tokyo's Haneda airport at 4:44 p.m.

The jumbo was en route to Naha, Okinawa Prefecture.
