The Foreign Ministry today will release the results of an in-house investigation that will say a ministry official almost certainly embezzled several hundred million yen and will face dismissal, sources close to the case said Wednesday.
The ministry will also either file a complaint or lodge an accusation against the 55-year-old official with the Metropolitan Police Department.
That will lead to a police investigation.
