The crew of the U.S. space shuttle Discovery said Monday that aspects of everyday life will become increasingly important as astronauts' missions get longer.
The crew of seven, which completed a 14-day mission in October, includes Japanese mission specialist Koichi Wakata, 37.
The crew told a joint news conference at the Japan National Press Club that some of them took a favorite book or food with them on their mission to deliver two key components to the International Space Station.
