OSAKA -- Three thieves robbed a post office in downtown Osaka on Thursday of 11 million yen in cash intended for an automated teller machine, police said.

Police investigating the 8:50 a.m. robbery at the Osaka Central Post Office, located in front of JR Osaka Station in Kita Ward, believe the three are foreigners. No one was injured in the robbery.

They said the robbery could have been premeditated as the ATM is refilled with cash by two postal employees, one of whom restocks the ATM while the other stands guard, at about the same time every day.
