Data related to national dentistry examinations believed to have been compiled by professors at Ohu University in Fukushima Prefecture was found stored on the hard disk of a university graduate's computer, investigative sources said Monday.
Former Ohu University professor Kenji Kusunoki, 54, was arrested Saturday on suspicion of leaking exam questions to students. Authorities believe he obtained the information from Itsuo Ueda, 59, a professor of the Health Sciences University of Hokkaido who served on the national exam board. Ueda, also arrested Saturday, and Kusunoki are suspected of violating the Dental Practitioners Law.
Police believe this latest finding is a strong indication that the university was systematically collecting information on the national exams and passing it on to students in the form of lectures, according to the sources.
