The government has drawn up a manual for a potential food crisis sometime this century on the basis of the new basic agricultural law, which came into force in July 1999, government sources said Tuesday.
The manual assumes a number of scenarios from abnormal weather, poor harvests in foreign countries and a decrease in agricultural production due to global warming to disruption of world trade because of regional conflicts.
The government is expected to endorse the manual later this month.
