A credit union employee was fatally shot when two men carjacked a credit union vehicle containing 46.6 million yen in Tokyo's Edogawa Ward on Friday, police said.
Keiji Toyohara, 46, was shot in his side and abdomen at around 12:50 p.m. and rushed to a nearby hospital. He was pronounced dead at 4:20 p.m., police said.
The stolen credit union vehicle was later found abandoned near the crime scene, but a bag containing the money is missing, they added.
