Video game giants Nintendo Co. and Sega Corp. on Wednesday denied a New York Times report that Nintendo is negotiating to buy Sega.
"That's absolutely groundless," a Sega spokesman said. "I don't know why such a story came out."
A Nintendo spokesman also firmly denied the report, adding the company has lodged a verbal complaint with the U.S. newspaper.
