Prime Minister Yoshiro Mori's newly appointed Cabinet ministers outlined their policy programs Tuesday evening in a meeting with the press at the Prime Minister's Official Residence.
Former Prime Minister Ryutaro Hashimoto, who made administrative reform his main goal during his term in office, pledged to implement the reforms that he helped map out.
"I helped make the backbone of the realignment plan for the bureaucracy to be implemented next month," he said. "I will do my utmost now that I have accepted the job."
