Ousted Peruvian President Alberto Fujimori has been staying at the house of popular writer Ayako Sono in Tokyo's Ota Ward, Sono told a hastily arranged press conference Monday.
She also said the disgraced politician has not told her how long he intends to stay nor what he plans to do in Japan.
Sono, who is also the President of the Nippon Foundation, said she had phoned Victor Aritomi, the former Peruvian Ambassador to Japan and Fujimori's brother-in-law, to offer her hospitality to Fujimori when she learned last Tuesday that a letter of resignation had been sent to Lima.
