Joji Obara, a 48-year-old man under arrest for raping two foreign women, was served a third arrest warrant Friday, this time on suspicion of raping a Japanese woman, police said.
Obara, an executive of a Tokyo real estate firm, is suspected of raping a Japanese woman in her 30s at his condominium in Zushi, a coastal city in Kanagawa Prefecture, after plying her with drugs, police sources said.
Obara was initially arrested Oct. 12 on suspicion of raping a Canadian woman, who works as a bar hostess in Tokyo's Roppongi area, at the same condominium on March 31, 1996, after giving her a drink spiked with drugs. The Tokyo District Public Prosecutors Office indicted Obara on that charge on Oct. 28.
