A man armed with a handgun on Tuesday attacked two employees of a "shinkin" bank branch office in Tachikawa, western Tokyo, and made off with $10,000 (1,076,800 yen) in cash, police said.
The male and female employees were reportedly uninjured in the attack, which occurred around 9:50 a.m. in front of the Ome Shinkin Bank branch, located about 200 meters from Tamagawa Josui Station on the Seibu Haijima Line, police said.
The incident took place just after the employees received a pouch containing the cash and documents from an employee of a security company at a nearby parking lot, investigators said.
