BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN -- Foreign Minister Yohei Kono and his Australian counterpart, Alexander Downer, agreed Saturday to continue working to bring North Korea into the international fold, a Japanese official said.
In a meeting held ahead of a gathering of trade and foreign ministers of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation forum here, Downer also promised to brief Kono after he returns from a trip to North Korea from Tuesday to Thursday, the official said.
"I do not know how the talks will turn out, but we will brief Japan about it as much as possible," Downer was quoted as telling Kono.
