Japan and the 14-nation Caribbean Community will adopt a comprehensive policy document for the first time next week to establish a framework for strengthening cooperation in economics and a wide range of other areas.
Government sources said Wednesday that the document will also call for strengthened cooperation in international arenas, like the United Nations, and increased cultural and personnel exchanges at various levels to promote mutual understanding.
The comprehensive policy document on a framework for bilateral friendship and cooperation in the 21st century will be adopted at the first ministerial meeting between Japan and the Caribbean Community, or Caricom, scheduled for Wednesday in Tokyo, the sources said.
