Officials at Waseda University's Political Science and Economics Department said Tuesday that 189 completed answer sheets for a semester examination are missing.
The sheets for the first semester labor economics exam, held July 5, were discovered to be missing at the end of that month, said officials of the university, based in Tokyo's Shinjuku Ward.
According to the officials, the sheets were collected from the students and put in an unlocked cabinet in the department office. Answer sheets are usually kept in its safe, they said.
Students who took the exam were notified Oct. 4 that the sheets were missing.
