KISARAZU, Chiba Pref. -- Japanese and North Korean negotiators resumed their 10th round of bilateral normalization talks here Thursday but failed to narrow their differences on Pyongyang's demand for an apology and redress for Japan's colonial rule of the Korean Peninsula.
The two delegations held the second and final day of normalization talks in this port city east of Tokyo following Tuesday's session in the capital, during which the two sides agreed to hold in-depth discussions on each side's concerns during Thursday's session.
Despite there being little visible progress in this latest round, the two sides were expected to set a date and location for the next round of normalization discussions, possibly in Beijing in late October.
