The Walt Disney Internet Group said Tuesday it will provide content to subscribers of NTT DoCoMo Inc.'s mobile phone-based Web site services starting this month.

The Web unit of Walt Disney Co. said Disney-i content will start with four options -- Character Town, a daily Disney character screen saver; Melody Palace, a daily Disney song; Game World, the search for Disney characters in a virtual Disneyland; and Disney Fan Magazine-i, updated Disney news.

Subscribers to the service will have the option of receiving full video images of Disney characters on mobile phone monitors from 2001, when new and faster i-mode services will become available, the company said.

"We are very pleased to launch this capability with NTT DoCoMo and their customers -- it is a great way to reach Japanese consumers with the rich Internet content of Disney in a variety of mobile environments," said Mark Handler, executive vice president of the Walt Disney Internet Group.
