Sharp Corp. and Mitsubishi Electric Corp. said Monday they have agreed to jointly develop and produce of a personal digital assistant with mobile phone functions.
Sharp and Mitsubishi Electric plan to introduce the new PDA in Europe under separate brand names next spring, company officials said.
The deal will mark Sharp's first advance into the European PDA market, while Mitsubishi Electric hopes to reinforce its PDA business through the tieup with Sharp., maker of the Zaurus model, they said.
