A former British prisoner of war campaigning for Japanese compensation is designing a Web site to document the torture and suffering British POWs endured at the hands of their captors during World War II.
Jack Caplan, 85, hopes the vivid pictures and personal recollections of former British POWs will spur the Japanese government into paying compensation.
Caplan purchased the domain name of the Web site, www.japanesegovernment.co.uk, for 50 British pounds with the help of his son, who is a computer engineer. The site is still under construction.
