OSAKA -- Three high school students and a 20-year-old man have been arrested on suspicion of fatally assaulting a homeless man last month in Tennoji Ward here, police said Tuesday.
Hiroshi Maruyama and the three high school boys riding bicycles allegedly rammed a cardboard shack propped up on a street where Toshiharu Kobayashi, 67, was sleeping, at around 4:20 a.m. on July 22.
They also assaulted Kobayashi by punching and kicking him in the face, back and other areas of his body, police said, quoting their confessions.
