South Korea on Monday informed North Korea of its five senior officials to attend ministerial-level inter-Korean talks set to begin Saturday in Seoul, South Korea's Unification Ministry said.

The three-day talks will cover implementation of the accord forged during last month's historic inter-Korean summit, which calls for national reconciliation, reunification and expanding economic cooperation and exchanges in various sectors.

The list was contained in a letter signed by Prime Minister Lee Han Dong and addressed to his North Korean counterpart, Hong Song Nam.

The letter was read to the North Korean side by telephone at the truce village of Panmunjom earlier in the day, the ministry said.
