NAGO, Okinawa Pref. — Leaders of the Group of Seven industrialized nations on Friday hailed the positive outlook for the global economy — including Japan's — but expressed concern about high oil prices that could dent economic stability.
The G7 leaders agreed to speed up debt relief programs for the least developed countries while voicing worries about military conflicts that hamper efforts to reduce poverty, according to a statement released after the meeting.
They also agreed to take a tough stance against money laundering and encourage reforms in countries that are not taking effective action against financial crimes.
