IRIOMOTE ISLAND, Okinawa Pref. -- Nozomi Nakanishi, a research student at the University of the Ryukyus, climbed aboard her jeep and flicked on the switch of a receiver. Almost immediately a beeping noise blared out from the device, increasing in frequency and intensity as the vehicle skirted a stretch of dense jungle.
"He's on the move," she said with a smile.
