The driver and 12 passengers who were on the Nishi-Nippon Railroad bus that was hijacked by a 17-year-old last week re-enacted the crime with police from four prefectures Wednesday.

The six-hour re-enactment used a bus of the same type as the hijacked vehicle to run the same route -- over 300 km from a bus terminal in the city of Saga to the Kodani service area along the Sanyo Expressway in Higashi-Hiroshima, Hiroshima Prefecture, where investigators stormed the bus.

Wednesday's re-enactment was part of efforts by investigators to piece together the sequence of events during the ordeal, which lasted more than 15 hours.

A 68-year-old woman was stabbed by the youth and later died. Five other passengers were injured as they jumped off the moving bus or were stabbed by the youth.
