The Liberal Democratic Party on Tuesday endorsed a government-proposed draft of a bill that calls for restricting the rights of parents who abuse their children to see or talk with them.
Due to loopholes in the current laws, welfare counselors protecting abused children have often been forced to give in to parents who maintain that they can take their children back on the grounds that they have custodial rights.
The bill aims to effectively permit authorities to suspend the custodial rights of abusive parents by limiting access to their children.
