The following is a chronology of major incidents involving members of the Japanese Red Army:
February 1971 -- Leader Fusako Shigenobu travels to Lebanon and Palestine and links up with the Popular Front for Liberation of Palestine.
May 1972 -- Kozo Okamoto and two others launch an attack on Lod Airport in Tel Aviv, Israel, with grenades and machineguns. The attack leaves 26 people dead. Okamoto is arrested.
