The government on Friday approved a package of bills recognizing the rights of crime victims and their families.
The three bills are intended to guarantee victims the right to testify in court and have access to trial records -- and in some cases the investigation records. They were submitted to the Diet later in the day.
The bills cover amendments to the Criminal Procedure Law and the Law on the Committee for the Inquest of Prosecution, as well as the creation of a new law.
