Sony Corp., Toyota Motor Corp. and railway operator Tokyu Corp. announced Thursday that they will set up a joint company in April to offer broadband Internet application services through cable TV networks.
The new firm, Advanced Internet Integration Planning Co., will draw up a business plan by October to launch test services, officials of the three firms said.
It will then start commercial services around January 2001, they said.
