A man has been arrested on suspicion of theft in connection with Thursday's firebombing of a telephone dating club in Kobe that killed four men and wounded three others, police said Monday.

The unemployed man, Shinya Kameno, 24, confessed to participating in the firebombing of Rin Rin House Motomachi, police sources said, adding that they suspect he had two accomplices.

Police arrested Kameno on suspicion of stealing a license plate from a vehicle around midnight on Feb. 29 in Kobe. The plate was put on the van believed driven by the attackers, they said.

One of the three suspects, a 38-year-old gangster, has been in a hospital in Hiroshima's Nichi Ward since Thursday undergoing treatment for severe burns.
